Gary and Deb working on beginning a full time adventure, bringing our young at heart and spunky MIL along. Just waiting to sell our N Florida home. We are planning on buying a Grand Design Reflection BH 5th wheel. I'm retired from the USAF and plan to use military FamCamps when available. Love RVing and want to see as much of our country as we can.

Although not fulltime we did bring my dad on our camping trips during the 10 years he lived with us. He has always enjoyed camping and had a 35ft MH for most of his retired life. Even with dementia you could tell he enjoyed the times we were camping.
Have fun it sounds like a grand adventure...
Be sure to have a grab handle installed if the 5th wheel doesn't have one already. It really helps to negotiate the steps in and out of the 5th wheel.

I would say be particularly careful of the rig you buy. The lack of space is quite a transition for new full-timers and I would imagine adding a third person would be even more challenging.

This is why we are going with a 5er bunkhouse, half bath in BH. It's a 41ft trailer that can sleep 8, should work well for 3.

Thank you for your service from another retired USAF guy. We had the pleasure of traveling from California to Virginia with both of my folks when we first took off in our motorhome to begin our full-time life style. While it only took 8 days to traverse the country, and I know they enjoyed the ride. Good luck on your adventure.
