This has been a fun (but agonizing!) process and we've narrowed our first RV purchase choices down to two: a 2016 Thor Hurricane 31S or a 36' diesel 2005 Winnebago Journey. As much as I like the Hurricane, some forums I've found claim Thor to be very poor quality, many saying their new MH spent way too much tome having warranty work done. Do any of you have experience with this or know friends who have? By the way, the Journey drives like a dream but its 10 years old? What to do, what to do!? Will I sleep tonight???
As always, your input is so appreciated! You all have truly helped us through this!!

Looked at video of both models... very nice. From your post, you seem to already have a preference... I'd go with your gut. My only take away from what I can gather, the Journey is likely to be less expensive up front than the Hurricane when the negiotiations are concluded, owing to it's age. If it has been well maintained (a big IF) and FWIW, I'd go with the Journey and bank the difference in the purchase cost if it was me making the decision. If the Journey needed updating or repairs that extra cash would then come into play without hitting the bankroll compared to going all in on the new Hurricane. You will still need to set aside budget funds for maintenance anyway for either choice. Also, the Journey will not depreciate as quickly as the Hurricane in absolute dollars, which may be an important consideration.
JMHO, Brian... and good luck with your decision.

Hi Brian - I read your post and spoke to a co-worker and both of you were "go diesel". We put in an offer for it. If it doesn't work out, we have the Hurricane as a back-up. Looking forward to some travels!
