We've been fulltime for 3+ years. Never knew what an RV was before we started this but now I wouldn't trade it for the world. We know we're 5th wheel people...no Class A. I like the separation of where we travel and where I live. And anyone can work on a truck. So, since my 1st research, Keystone and Heartland have been bought by Thor; Open Range has been bought by Jayco (for their patent). And new players have come on the scene. We've owned a 34' Keystone Montana and a 42' Open Range Toy Hauler which we live in now. We ended up not bringing the motorcycle with us as it's too old to take up the room. We sold the Montana because hubby's computer was always on my kitchen table...that won't work. So we though he could set it up in the toy hauler, which he has. And I use as my quilting room. But there is less storage in the 42' toy hauler than in the 34' Montana. So we're looking now in the spring for a 36-38 ft with a screen door, seating to face the TV, a fireplace, a TV and a desk. The closest we've come is the Grand Design that has theatre seats and 2 loveseat sofa sleepers on either end. One salesman suggested taking out one of the couches and put in a desk of our choice ...we love that idea and have a friend that we know can built it for us. And there is a patio door with a screen, love the kitchen, the bath the bedroom, everything about it. Grand Design is new and owned by former Thor people so they understand full time and customer service. That's as far as I've gotten. I hear a lot about DRV but have yet to find a dealership that has them but we have only started and we've only been S (Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas) since we decided this is the route we'd take. So I'm looking for whatever other knowledgeable fulltimers know. TIA

Have you looked at the Lifestyle Alfa Gold Line? They have an interesting 9x4 storage room in the slide behind the TV & fireplace on their 3905 models. Even has an optional motorcycle loading mechanism or the option of making it into a extra bunkroom. We like the plain storage option which might fit our plans but until we see one in the flesh we are holding off on adding it to our short list but it looks interesting. Here's the link to their site... http://www.lifestylelrv.com/

We saw the Lifestyle Alfa Gold 3905 about a month ago and it's a really nice unit. If we were looking for a 5th wheel it would be in the top few. LOVE the option of taking the motorcycle without having it be a "toy hauler."
