I hope that i'm posting this in the right area and that i'm not reposting this from someone else. I have read a few times that there are a few people that have updated their 30 AMP connection to a 50 AMP connection. i have a qualified electrician that is a good friend of ours and i'm hoping that this would be possible with not too much trouble. i have some experience with HVAC but know that i need to have a qualified person with me, but i'm not above getting into the midst of it to help get the job done! Any information that can be given is definitely helpful! thank you again!.

Well, here we go, you will have to change the outside 30 AMP connection to a 50 AMP connection with 6 gauge wire, there is 10 gauge wire there right now and the breaker panel will have to be changed to a 50 amp panel, you will have fun doing this, and get a 50 amp plug outside, you also will need 6 gauge wire cord about 25 foot long, 50 amp is (2) 120 volt or 2 hot legs and 6 gauge wire going from outside to the inside to the breaker panel, 6 gauge wire is very thick and hard to handle. It can be pricey with the price per foot, it is a 4 wire cord and get the soft wire, factory uses solid wire very stiff.

No I have not done this project, but I'm familiar with RV electrical system, It is just like a house electrical system but different, RV has (AC, DC) power I'm just good at what I do, I have learned from the best, I just make it up as I go, they say I have Asperger, I'm a fast learner at what I like to do, I build blueprints in my head and just built it as I go, I don't know how I do this, but I put my mind to the project and just build it, it comes easy for me. I have read a lot and just take it from there, things I don't like to do I don't advance in, like spelling, using big words in a sentence, what can I say, I did not do well in school, Ok the cats out of the bag, I don't think I'm smart because I'm not.
