New fifthwheel today close on our house in two weeks!!! Retire in January, and we are hitting the road!!! Hope to meet some of you people during our travels... Planning on Aransas Pass area first winter. Can anyone suggest a nice place to setup for the winter? Looking forward to de-stressing and enjoying life with the wife.

We stayed at Gulf Waters RV Resort in Port Aransas, which we enjoyed very much. Also, we had friends who were staying at Southern Oaks which is in Aransas Pass. They had been coming down for years and stayed there every winter.

Depends on what you want to spend. For only $250/mo Fin and Feather Marina and RV park is right on Redfish bay - great for fishing with a nice fishing pier! It's not a resort, in fact they don't have a bath house or even 50 amp service, but they don't charge resort prices either.
My favorite low budget park in the Rockport area (just down the road) is the Route 1069 RV Park. It's pretty new (only 4 yrs old) and they just put in a pool last year. It has all amenities including cable and Wi-Fi for only $230/mo. Unlike many parks in the area, you're not crammed in like sardines and there are a few trees for shade. Plus it's only 1/2 mile from downtown Rockport for shopping.
If you like spacious secluded sites with a little more privacy and don't have to be right on the water, Enchanted Oaks feels more like a state park, as it butts up next to a nature preserve. It has full amenities but you pay a little more for the relative seclusion and not being packed in like sardines at $280-$335/mo. It's located just outside of Rockport.
