Has anyone been successful or looked into installing a burglar alarm in their home on wheels. Thoughts?

Never felt we needed one. Have seen very little crime since we started full-timing back in 2001.

I researched a few years back and found a couple of different systems that I would go with. Unfortunately, I don't remember the manufacturer names. Both systems had the feature to call your cellphone if the system was activated. There are systems on the market now that include video, audio over your cellphone. You can even talk to the thief using your cellphone.
I ended up just adding some cameras and monitor that we can watch all sides and the door of our RV when in it. It also records the video and audio from the cameras like a dashcam does.

Where do you people go that you need to have video monitoring of your rig? I just look out the window occasionally.

We have a 2011 Mk 1 "Beagle" that does an excellent job of alerting us. Especially when the a doorbell rings on the TV.

What got us thinking was that on another Rv group on Facebook a couple stopped to eat dinner and their Rv and another persons uhaul was broken into in a very short period of time. Had the Rv had a audible alarm it may have discouraged the thieves. We have never had any problems once we get to the parks we are at, but we do worry a little when we stop at rest stops and other more transient areas.

Ah, that explains it. When we stop at a rest area we are switching drivers and we never leave the coach except to do a walk around. Only other stop would be when fueling and then at least one of us is with the coach. We don't stop otherwise because we only move about 200 miles at a time.
