How do you keep birds from nesting in the metal piece on your fifth wheel that attaches to the truck hitch when your rig is in storage or stationary for a while? Also what is that metal piece called?

Are you talking about the pin box? Kev stuffs it with something so there isn't any room for them to nest anytime we're parked anywhere for more than a few days.

RVKevi is right on. Birds are a pain but bees are worse. Once they have found a spot (bees or birds) its tough to keep them out. We've had good success with wrapping the pin box with poly and taping it to the bottom of the overhang so there is no place to enter.
