It occurred to me as I was catching up on the forum that I should probably take a moment and say I am happier than I have ever been in my entire life. It's not like my life sucked or anything. Good marriage, three great kids, fulfilling career... but I have never ever been this stress free and happy. Is this lifestyle hard to accomplish...absolutely. Is the process of becoming full timers stressful and scary...oh yeah. Do you need to plan and re-plan and talk and talk some more...sure. But...and it's a big but... when you push through...when you get out there...when things settle down and you start living your life...wow it's great.
Just thought it was worth saying :)

Wow Trace, you've come a long way in such a short time for such a major life change. It's wonderful to see you sharing such an upbeat attitude. Keeping your glass always half FULL never ever half empty has I'm sure helped you ten fold during challenging times as will occur here and there.

This whole process has been challenging, but anything worth having is worth working for- right?
Getting my husband back (from the employer who was sucking the life force out of him) has been 100% worth everything else we have given up - house, other car, jobs, etc.

Thanks for posting that. The timing was perfect since we are now starting to take steps toward making it real. I was starting to question if we were really going to do this. KUDOS to you!! We've been stress free for 12 months at the end of this June. Your comments are very well put.
This forum had a lot to do with our decision and building the courage to become full timers. We made the decision, sold the sticks and bricks, rid our selves of 48 years of junk and never looked back.

You are SO fortunate! We are still working (until year end 2017). DW is happy to mostly time but has put her foot down on fulltimeing (for now).
We have never been 'on the road' for more than 10 days. This year we are out for a 3 1/2 week stretch - those times out seem to be getting longer and longer :)
In fact, We are planning our 2018 AlCan Escape (a 6-ish month trip from AL to AK & back) DW is excited and I am hoping by about month 4 she will mention to me that "this lifestyle is not to bad after all maybe I should reconsider..."
Speaking of running the AlCan - I don't mean to hijack this thread, but any advice would be appreciated and do any of you know of group caravans up the AlCan? We know about Fantasy RV Tours and the others, I am thinking more of a informal group of RVers coming together for "safety in numbers" for the trip through AB, YK and into AK.

X4! We're also wrapping up our first year this month. Gotta say, it just seemed to come naturally for us and we are loving every minute of it! No big surprises. Just having a ball! Only downside, missing the kids/family/friends of course. But it also allows for us to see some that are scattered across the US than before when we were stationary.

Indeed! Now that we have our first year under our belt, figured out what we were doing, fixed a few rig problems, and made it 14,000 miles with no incident (except a flat tire, but right as we pulled into a Walmart). I was very anxious to get to home base for the summer to visit with family and friends, but after a couple months stationary, I am missing the road. It is hectic at home! Although we are in a great campground (happy to be away from "rv parks!) I will be ready to roll come Sept.
It is a great lifestyle!
