Hi - We are Robin and Gary from Idaho but currently living in Alaska. We have been planning for over two years and initially set Nov 2016 as our FT start date. After studying financials and readying Howard and Linda's story and viewing their budget sheets we have decided to purchase a less expensive trailer so we could afford to make the leap a year earlier than planned! We are pre-retirement age (48 and 45). Gary's job is very long hours and very stressful so he will be retiring early while I continue to work as my job is mobile and fairly stress-free. I will probably work another 3-4 years to help 'beef-up' our income streams before I also retire. After that we may work here and there for a month or two but mostly plan to just enjoy life! We bought our tow truck a month ago, put a deposit on our trailer to be ordered in July and will put the house on the market in July. Fingers-crossed for a fairly quick sale and a smooth start to our adventure! We have done a lot of research and 'talked' to many current full-timers online and sure do appreciate all the great advice people have provided so far... RV'ers are wonderful people!

Welcome to the forum Gary and Robin! I'm envious of you for two reasons! First, you've had the opportunity to live in Alaska...though I've fished up there numerous times, I've often wished I has the chance to live up there for a few years. I love that state! And secondly you'll be hitting the road a month or two before us! Best wishes and safe travels.

Howdy you two, and Congrats on what will be a delightful Journey. We too spent years reading,chatting and endless talking about this life style, and the 3 summers it took to sell our home, Wow was that frustrating.
