Has anyone stayed there? It's in Lorton, VA. Seems nice from the website, but it's hard to tell what it would be like for a newbie to maneuver a 40' fifth wheel. Camp office said no problem, but it sounded like a very young girl who really didn't know otherwise.

We have stayed there numerous times with a 35' motor home. We will be there the 3rd week in May for about 5 days. Nice place. Close to DC and the Springfield Metro. Wifi is almost non existent and lots of trees Which is bad for satellite. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Cheryl, we stayed there our first trip to the DC area a couple of years ago. We have a Carriage Cameo 37 CKSLS which is right at 38 feet. I found some of the spots would be a challenge but there were a number of sites that wouldn't have been a problem. We've since stayed at Cherry Hill RV Park on the north side of the loop at the intersection of I 95 and I 495. It has all the amenities and it's in an area with stores and shopping.

I think Cherry Hill RV Park has a direct shuttle to DC, so no need for the Metro. It's also quite a bit more expensive. Once in DC you can take a shuttle bus to all the monuments, Arlington National Cemetery, Vietnam Memorial and museums. Pay one price for all day and get on and off the bus at your pace.

Mitch would be starting a new job with an assignment in that area for at least a month if not more, so a place to stay long term is key. Cherry hill fits the bill in terms of amenities and space but is $65/day with no monthly rates and only Good Sam.

I worked in the DC area and if your not familiar with the rush hour traffic: 6-9 am and 3- 7:30 pm you better get used to traveling a mile in an hour! This was 6 yes back.

Try Duncan's Family Campground in Lothian, MD (Southern Anne Arundel County). Most reasonable campground for the DC area with monthly rates. Also, there is a KOA in Millersville, MD (close to my home), however they do not offer monthly rates.
