Hello, we are moving from Phoenix to Nashville this summer and are wanting to purchase a 5th wheel to live in and move around the city for awhile in Nashville until we figure out what part of the city/area we want to live. We have never owned an RV before so this is very new to us. We are looking at several different models in the 2010 - 2013 year range, 38ft + with a budget no higher than $55,000. We have purchased the truck, 2006 Ford F-350 Supercrew DRW with the 6.0 Diesel and tow package (And all the work done to fix the 3 problems this engine had) And only 68,000 miles. Any advice from this forum would be greatly appreciated on make/models that work best for what we are wanting to do. Specifically:
What models hold there value more than others
What models hold up for wear and tear
What models/floor plans are best for full timing
if this is the wrong forum for these types of questions please let me know.....
We we look forward to and value all comments.

Welcome! If you are still in Phoenix, I understand this is a good time of year to be looking for pre-owned units as some of the snowbirds seem to make a decision that this is their last year with an RV and there's a bit of a glut on the market.
Phoenix and Tucson both have several large RV dealers, I'm sure others here can provide insight into which ones are better than others. I understand that Lazy Days in Tucson has a huge selection, but that's just what I hear from others.

Not the wrong forum at all, lots of people willing to help. Floor plan depends on what you need and what is comfortable for you. Walk through as many rigs as you can and mimic what you would be doing as you live in it. I hate to cook, therefore my kitchen space has to be easy for me to use or I may refuse to cook...! We have three cats and need a spot for the litter box..., etc. Each person and couple has different needs and wants.
Can't advice about value or wear and tear, you'll find much info on this forum that will be useful. Our 5th wheel is 24 yrs old and still doing good, all equipment works and my DH does all repairs whenever needed.
Welcome and enjoy!

Welcome, lots of great info here. There also is a search box at the top which is helpful. Lots of luck, the choice is yours. Do a consumer digests search on the 06 Ford; some of the diesels had severe engine troubles.

The 6.0 was one of them. Most dealers will not be up front as they want your $$$$$ s.
