Hi I'm Holly and from NH. My husband and I are getting ready for retirement. We want to take log trips to see and explore this beautiful country. I especially want to immerse myself in nature, and to explore the wonders of cities and towns and different communities and lifestyles. We have been looking at different options For traveling and at times find it a bit overwhelming as to what would be best for us. I would like to be environmentally sound, economical, sturdy and safe, have the company of two extras and us all be comfortable. I would like to be able to camp on public lands be able to travel off the side roads, but not trail blazing. Boondocking seems fantastic, and I like to cook and eat and carry some of my yarn stash so storage is important. We have most recently been thinking about a small 5 th wheeler. And class C RV. I will also be driving my fair share and have found driving a 24 ft. class C was very easy. Not sure about a 5th. , my readings have seemed to indicate TT are more difficult. planning on traveling for 4-6 mos.at a time when we retire. we would love any advice. We have done tenting and had a small & comfy pop up when the kids were small. Loved the pop up but want more ease and comfort for traveling. I still am having some trouble figuring out what is quality or necessary vs what is just bells and whistles. I'm so glad to be part or this forum. ....let's see.....you wouldn't also like to get way from some of the winter conditions up there, would you?
Seriously, use the entire website for your research. Howard and Linda provide a lot of information on the lifestyle, and a lot of the folks on the forums can provide a lot of information on various RV's that might interest you.

Welcome Holly! There is a lot of information out there and be patient with yourself as you sift through it. There is so much information that it can be overwhelming at first before your mind starts making sense of it. The other thing once you start hearing people's opinions is figuring out what is important to you. What might be extravagant to one person might be a necessity in my mind. :)

welcome.. from what I read in your post my idea would be to go to diffrent places and look. If you find something that feels right then reserch more on the rv. I do not yet have an rv but when ever weather and funds permit I do borrow my dads class c. I absolutly love the rv. Goodluck and hope you reach your goals.
