We picked up stink bugs in Pennsylvania shortly after we picked up our Baby Girl. We have cohabitated with stink bugs ever since. They are everywhere! Not sure if they are multiplying like rabbits, or if they just exist across state lines. Regardless, how can we get rid of them??? Just recently they have been gassing us when we grab them. I have been throwing them out the front door, but I will no longer be so kind. I will sacrifice a select-a-size paper towel and smash the little beggers! Any advice? I just got gassed again and I amnot happy!

Check your screens to make sure they are snapped tightly into place. Also look at how flush your screen door closes. We made adjustments to our screen door (remember the bees at the IN Rally?) and now it has a tight seal. Some of our screens weren't totally snapped in. I'm not so sure the fan screens are totally tight. I might put tape around them. Don't squish them. Get a papertowel, but pick the up gently and dispose of them.
It's so much better, but those "lil stinkers" show up from time to time, so places worse than others!

Ok, I have to confess I laughed when I saw the title of this thread. We have been co-habitating with stink bugs for months! When in Virginia they were really bad, and we had probably 20 or more in the rig per day. Now that we're in Fort Myers there's only 2 or 3 each day. At first we thought we had brought them with us, and I'm sure some of them did hitch a ride, but we've been here for two months so I guess these are new ones. I don't know if it's possible to completely prevent them from getting in, they can flatten themselves to slip through even when everything is buttoned up tight. Sigh.

Can stink bugs fly? If not, use an insecticide like Spectracide and spray around all items that touch the ground like the tires, leveling jacks, and even hoses and electrical cords. We've had ant issues in the past that this method worked on.
If they can fly, I guess you are just out of luck unless you sprayed insecticide around the doors and windows as well. Although, they could probably still find access points somewhere.

They apparently don't like the cold, so crank up the AC Too expensive an option, go with the remove them when discovered solution... just another one of life's little annoyances.

Stink bugs can fly. We get one every once in a while, including today. I coax it onto a fly swatter and then take it outside. I do not want to smash it inside.

PA is one if the worst states for them and trust me if we could rid of them we would. Best advice is to close ANY cracks. They will hibernate when it's cold or at least go away but as soon as the warmth comes they are back. I do know they love soy so if you're parked around any soy fields they can be really bad. Ive tried just about everything from homemade to commercial but we still have them, And they're gross!!!

So weird, been in PA in the RV since June and probably have had about 10-12 stink bugs total (unless the puppy dog is eating them before I see them!!)!! I know there are some stink bug traps you can make out of a 2 liter bottle, not tried them, but have heard they work. Check pinterest or youtube to see how you can make them (search stink bug traps). Think it's pretty easy!!

We still find some on warmer days - I HATE them! Jo - they only smell when you squish - or otherways kill them!
As someone already said - they do fly - BUT - the good news is they are totally stupid and will let you kill them! (Ok that's hubby's job!).
When we were still in the house they loved my master bath and I would go up there with my vaccuum and suck them all up (then promptly dispose of the bag - OUTSIDE!).

We have been really lucky so far, only one or two a week. Sometime go two weeks without one. However we have found a way to kill them withou any stink. We purchased one of those electric tennis racket looking things. The stink bugs are slow and you can easily push them onto the racket with a piece of paper. When you push the button it zaps them dead with no stink.

Those electric tennis racket looking things are $3 at Harbor Freight and use D batteries. At least that is true of the one we have. They are also good at killing the little brown months that are getting more and more common in campgrounds, the kind that lay eggs in your cereals.

We get stink bugs periodically in our fifthwheel, and we've never really discovered where they come from or how they get in. I keep a shot glass near the door, and when we discover one, I gently nudge it into the glass and release it to the wild, where it can go visit someone else. Besides being humane (!), this method never results in a stink, which is caused when you crush or alarm them.

we spent the summer in New Jersey and we were loaded with stink bugs. We sprayed we use the plastic bottle trap that we found how to make on Pinterest nothing helped. Now I'm in Phoenix and every once in awhile I will see them coming in pairs on my ceiling. I usually throw them down the toilet with the chemicals. I really think they live and breathe in the walls. I am NOT looking forward to spending the summer in Arizona. I know there are some pest control companies that say they can definitely get rid of them but I have 3 cats so I'm not quite sure how that will work.

We use a small disposable cup filled 1/2 full of water and dish soap. If they are on the wall or ceiling, just put the cup under them and use the edge of it to nudge them enough to fall in it. If on the floor, slip a piece of paper under them and drop them into the soapy water. The soapy water will kill them without any stink in a few seconds. Also works on the orange Chinese beetles. Throwing them out the door while still alive is not only disrespectful to fellow campers, but also gives them a chance to just come back in.
