Here's a very very "DUMB" newbie question from me regarding tanks and dumping.
Just had my second day of below freezing, and city water in (hose) froze.
Had water in tank, I knew that.
...and disconnected the frozen hose, got an empty one reattached to city line, and got water in...
BUT.
as I was draining my black tank later in day after warmer!, I then tried to drain grey tank
pretty much nothing ..just a trickle.
So, It is now over 32degrees, and I left my grey tank open.
Comments, oh-no's, atta-boys, or a "YOU REALLY screwed up?"

Does this grey tank share the same pipe coming out of the bottom of your rig as the black? You could have a slug of TP in the shared line, and your black may not be as empty as you think it is. Try closing the grey and running your tank flush for 10 minutes to build up some pressure to flush it out. DON'T leave it unattended, as you don't want a roof geyser...as it will overflow doo-doo out the roof vent when overfilled.

Some of these cable valves are crap.
They may not be shutting completely and are draining a little at time.
Maybe the tank is empty.. try pouring some water down you sink, and see it it comes out..
I swapped my black tank to a electric one, for that reason.. 2015 rv!
