I'm on some other forums but thought this one looked interesting also.
I'm a woman on my 3rd RV. Yes, I'm married but my husband is still working and thinks he will at least one more year, we shall see. He works internationally so
when he is home not much interested in traveling. We are both 68 soon to be 69. I travel with my mildly mentally challenged daughter who is 43 and our cat named Black who is 19!
My first rv was a 25ft class C, maybe a 1989? My husband got worried it was to old, we fixed it up but ended up selling it after a couple of trips.
My next one was a 2006 Winnebago Sightseer 29 ft with a couple of slides. Hubby insisted I could pull a toad, I was terrified, he kept saying it was easy, you
know what he was right, it was. I liked it, a nice little coach but the wind out west would blow me from one lane to another, he put everything on it
Safety Plus, track bar, but it still would get blown around by semis. It really was a lot of work for me to drive, I thought about giving it up.
He told me he would find one I could drive and nothing would blow me around. So here we went, BACKWARDS, to a 1992 American Eagle, 38 ft
diesel pusher, no slides. We have spent quite a bit, fixing, updating, and repairing. A set of new tires sure was pricey among other things. I've
driven it about 12000 miles now and all 3 of them around 20000 altogether. We have talked about buying newer but I like the old Eagle and
my daughter and I don't have to have slides, don't get me wrong they are very nice but we can get by If 3 of us were going, well that could get
crowded. So that's kind of where we are right now. We don't know if he will want to RV after retirement or not so I hesitate to buy newer and I
don't want longer. My toad is a 2013 Cadillac SRX, does great.
So we are getting ready to go to Texas for about a month after the first of the year. Home with husband 3 weeks in February then taking off for
Florida for a month, maybe 2. Hope all goes well, if not as they say carry a credit card, checkbook or whatever!!
Hope to see folks on the road, DD and I love it, hope I can see good enough to drive a lot longer. We have a
