I signed up for the Verizon 20 GB service for $99.99 back on Nov 3, and today, ten days later, I got an alert telling me that I've used 75% of my data allotment. I went on-line and downloaded my usage stats to a spreadsheet, added it all up and arrived at just over 3.7GB. Since the stats on-line were only current as of two days ago, I called to speak to a Verizon CSR. Though the normal usage page showed I used 0GB of 0GB, he was able to look at yesterday and today and find some additional usage, (today was a kinda heavy use day). We came up with a total of about 8GB.
I remember when I called to sign up, that the first couple of CSR's didn't know about the 20GB plan, but DID know about a 10GB plan. When I got a rep who knew the story, she told me that the had to throw something together for us for Milleniumites.
I'm guessing that the usage alerts are the same ones used on the 10BG plans, and so when it gets up to the trigger points of the 10, it sends them out. Your milage may vary.

I've been getting one or two alerts every day but when I checked it showed that I had used 0GB of 0GB. When I called I was told that it was a known problem that they were working on. That if I needed to know my usage before the problem was corrected I could call and they could tell my my usage.
Hopefully everything will be worked out soon. I've had to call a couple of time and have had a very polite and helpful person.

One thing I did find out, if you have an employer discount, Verizon sets you up on a smaller plan temporarily as that was the same monthly price as the 20 GB Millenicom plan with my employer related discount and then internally they route a request to have the account changed to reflect the 20 GB, but with the discount. It took about a week but as of yesterday my account now shows the 20 GB plan instead of 10 GB and the alerts have gone away. The CSR I talked to said there are still some other issues, work in progress and all should be resolved before our next billing cycle which is Dec. 3rd.

They are no-contract.. at least most of them. They only offered a contract discount it seems for the first day.

Mine isn't a contract, and it's not prepaid. It's post paid (?) and gets billed in arrears. I think that way if I go over, it gets billed as part of that month's service. I was told that even though it's non-contract, it will stay the same until I call and tell then to turn it off. I don't know if you can suspend it for a period, and then turn it back on, like you could with Millenicom.
