What did I get myself into!!!! Did I fill my plate with more resposibilities than I want to deal with!!! I now have appointments with the Pain Mngt. Doctors and Neurology Drs. referred by the VA Drs. By the time they get done probing and poking will I become the Bionic Man??? I guess they want to find out if I am truly a "Nut" or if my degenerative discs in my neck and torn cartiledge in my rotator cup in my right shoulder is real.
Between that and now having to replace the HW heater and the Roof A/C; it seems like I may have to push up my plans on getting the "DREAM" back in order. Guess we all have to try and keep things in perspective! I honestly can not believe that it has been 31 months as of today since my Heart Attack and as of about 6:00 AM that morning I smoked my hopefully last tobacco product and went "Cold Turkey". Speaking of Turkeys; Thankgiving is almost here!!
Just wanted to jump in and inform everyone that this "Old Bird" is still going strong. Don't give up on your Dreams! PIEERE

I just went to try and get a family doctor in fl.. found out they can't write prescriptions for pain medicine... I have to go see a pain management doctor too.. Had them transfer my records.. they didn't even get them..
Fun in the sun... lol
I think the new laws for pain meds is driving alot of this.. time to find a "off shore" source. I think.

Ed (Pieere) - keep up your great spirits, you're such an inspiration to us all! Although I wouldn't mind some of the stuff we used 30 years ago!
Steve - I ran into the same problem when I had to have my hip surgery done in FL. As soon as we started traveling, although I still needed some pain meds, I was told to go to a pain mgt dr. I didn't do that; preferred to attempt alternate means (tylenol + advil + ice, which really wasn't as helpful as the percoset) rather than the pain X10 of dealing with having to tell my story in another state just to get pills, especially since it really does sound kind of suspicious!

Pierre,
I hope all goes smoothly with your visits.
Steve and Cheryl,
If your health insurance has/offers mail order prescriptions, next time consider having your prescribing doctor send your refills to that provider. You need to allow some time for delivery, but that may be easier than finding and seeing another doctor. That may or may not be relevant for the pain medication, but worth looking into.

Lynn or Ed - yes, that is exactly what we landed up doing -- having the dr. mail the rx to our FL mail forwarding service, which was then forwarded to us at the campground, which was then mailed to the mail order company, who then mailed the rx to the mail forwarding service which was forwarded to us!!! (again, being a controlled substance, they would not send it anywhere other than my "residence" - legal address on file). Took about 2 months to get.

PIEERE: I have always found that delays, for whatever reason, do end up being for the better although they are very frustrating. Maybe they will get all their ducks in a row, find some real answers with real solutions and you can move along your planned path all for the better. Life can be frustrating for sure but you are about do for one of those good things that come to people who wait.

I no longer have a perscribing doctor.. and need one in FL. My residence in now here. That is driving the problem.

Hey Ed,
We can relate to all the different specialists. (I thought you gave up tobacco a couple of years ago?)
Hang in there and keep your positive attitude!
