As I was cleaning up and consolidating email I ran across a get ready checklist I made in November of 2013. It's held up amazingly well so I thought I would share it. This list is predicated on the idea we would be working on the road with our own small business so won't fit everyone, but maybe it can help.

Great list. I'd add: practice living and cooking in a very small space. Also practice storing your must-haves in small cabinets and nooks. It's amazing how that Have-to-take list shrinks when you can't find a place to put those items.

I agree. We spent two months living I our RV in a seasonal site while we waited on the house to sell and the time was invaluable in helping us work through things prior to going on the road

Good list! And, very adaptable too. Everyday as I look around the house, I am evaluating what we have. I figure it will take two more cuts before I am ready. The two non-negotiable items are Zippy, a stuffed toy monkey that Grandma gave me for my 8th birthday and a small teddy bear that a family friend gave me on my first Easter because where they don't go, I don't go either. They remind me of who I am and everything else is just everything else.
We do have bugs to work out but with the real estate market going into its big sleep now, it creates a sort of slump in the high it takes to move ahead. But, we are looking for a new tow vehicle which is not fun but necessary and prices are good right now. Find the positive.

Great list---We forgot absentee ballots, so tomorrow I am overnighting the paperwork to get it done in time.
So sorry you have to rehome Molly, I had to leave my dog and kitties and horse behind too.
Fwiw they are all well settled and very happy, I'm the only one suffering from their rehoming!

good list, a few things I would add:
Install hitch (if you're buying truck/5th wheel)
Schedule Estate Sale
Schedule charity pick up of everything left over after estate/garage sales
Pre-inspection of home (helped us sell much faster)
Refinish deck / clean patio
Vet visit - if you're taking your pet
Vet records
