Hey all.......what an eventful summer!! I've been following since we attended the Rally in April, but now we are starting to head in the right direction too. We purchased a new truck in May to tow our new future home.......and last Saturday we parked her in our driveway. We purchased a 36 foot Grand Design 305RE. She's a beauty!!! As of now the 5 year plan is moved up to 18 months. We are listing the house in April 2016 (which means that after April we're down to 1 year)....YEAH!!!!!! We are really excited now that we have our getaway sitting in front of us. Thanks for everyone's helpful advice to each other on here. We've gotten so much great information and will stay tuned and I'm sure will have many questions as we get closer, but the dream is starting to come closer and closer to reality and we're getting SO excited as it does!

She sure does! Curled up in front of the fireplace on first trip. She sends love to Sadie :)....and hope you're both doing well too!

Marianne -
I know what you mean, we are on the path too! Bought our pickup one year ago and took delivery of our 2015 Bighorn 3010RE on August 1st. We have taken her out on 3 short trips so far and are loving every minute of it. We don't have enough room to park her in our driveway, so we keep her at a nearby storage facility. My DH goes there almost every day to do some little job, LOL! I think he just goes there and stares at her. I know that on the day when I come home before we leave for a trip and she's parked out front of my house my heart still skips a beat with excitement! I can't wait until we are living in her full time. We currently have our house on the market and are hoping for a quick sale. We already had one fall through, but we are hopeful for another soon. We just keep plugging along. Good luck in your adventure, the time goes by very quickly!

Maybe if the Dreamers clan sends some good "mojo" our way, we will sell soon! :)

Marianne,
Have you started purging? It is never too soon to do that. The less stuff to deal with at the end, the easier the transition. As Debbie said, it is a busy time. Definitely enjoy the ride and don't sweat the small stuff. The prize at the finish line is all worth it!

Marianne,
Congrats on moving forward! Looks like we are on the same timeframe, April 2016! These last 18 months will fly by and before we know it, the "Class of 2016" will be on our way!

Yes, we have. The hard part for us is a lot of handmade woodwork from my father. He made us several tables, a hutch, a dry sink, pie safe, and other items from a rare wood called wormy chestnut (it was a blight that went through many years ago and the only way to get the wood now is from tearing down old barns, or garages) Anyway....I've sent pictures to everyone in my family already to take a piece or pieces of his work. As hard as it is for me to part with it, I need to know that his handywork stays in our family and not sold. Once I get through that part, the rest won't be as difficult. We are going to have a big painting party on Memorial Day next year to do the entire inside of the house, and then another big yard sale next fall. By then we should be getting pretty thin. Thanks for any tips you can offer to help....we keep reading here and appreciate all the help to make the transition easier.
