I'm not sure I would call this a "good read". Lots of legal stuff in here. Any lawyer types around to distill this into layman's terms? Are these regulations wanting a $20K RV loan for a travel trailer or 5th wheel to be treated like a sticks and bricks purchase?

That's my take, also.

Allow me to add that the document linked to was created back on April 29, 2011, so it is over three years old. How that age might effect the information that is given in the document is difficult to know without some updates as to what regulations that the regulatory bodies were choosing to implement that have actually been implemented.

Look at the last page..
Lots of real stats there..
I liked the read.. 2011 is not that long ago, considering how long it takes to get a law passed, etc..
Intresting... Thanks for the post!

and for those really not interested in the technical details.
quick synopsis (and yes, I did read it)
In 2011, the Federa Reserve issued a rule to try and mitigate the problems stemming from the 2008 housing crash.
One of the rules (rule Z) affected how mortgages are issued.
and one teeny sentence included (in the view of the RV dealers association) a quick reference to our stuff.
If you're NOT financed, with a mortgage or loan on your RV, you can safely skip the original document.
Cheers

Thank you Mitch.....I was putting off reading it, due to not wanting to wade through stats and such. Now I know I do not need to read it.
If you're traveling around in an RV, snowbirding with an RV or living in an RV this reference is a good read.
