Hi..Just joined. I have been RVing for 20+ years now, starting with an old travel trailer we bought at a garage sale. Have had pretty much all types of Rvs...small motorhome, conversion van, popup, travel trailers and now a 25ft 5th wheel.
I have always been a do it yourself kind of guy, having no money kind of determined that...lol. I picked up this 5th wheel cheap as the roof had been leaking. Got it sealed up and replaced some paneling and insulation. Also ripped out carpet and installed some hardwood laminate flooring. Its pretty nice now if I must say so.
I am in Ontario Canada, so the season is pretty much over, will be winterizing it soon...maybe one more weekend trip. Hope to find good info on here and may be able to help a bit too
thanks for having me...Harry

Welcome to the forum. We also have a vintage 5er (28' Aljo) which I love and have had all the kinds of camping rigs you mentioned. Not full-timing yet but did do it many years ago. Still dreaming of getting on the road again. Here you'll find all kinds of great info and a lot of very nice people always willing to help.

Welcome! You sound kind of like us. Our first RV was a tent camper we saw in the yard a couple blocks from our house, it cost $400.00 and we couldn't believe it was good (probably it wasn't but....). The only way to go is to be a do-it-yourselfer these days and that leaves the extra "fun" money you need to enjoy the RV once you get it.

Welcome aboard fellow Canadian, Harry.
Nothing wrong with what you got going there. I started with a "Pop-Up" Tent Trailer(soft top) and it would leak so bad I would have to put an additional tarp over top. Secure it down with some tarp straps and it was great. It could pour rain and we were DRY. Didn't look like much but I couldn't afford much .....................But it worked.

My first RV was a Wenzel 2-person (politically correct terminology) tent. Then owned a 3 yr. old dealer new 1978 Fan 22' TT; sold to put a down payment on a house; then a few yrs. later bought an old tent camper for $300.00. Sold it later; ended up solo and have had two Class/c's and now this 34' fiver.
