We are new to this forum, but have been active in a forum or two for the last 7 years. We have been campers since we married in 1969 and RV'ers since 2003. We fulltimed for 4 1/2 years from mid 2006 to the end of 2010. In 2010 we bought a sticks & bricks, where we lived and raised our children, so we could spend more time with our two young grandchildren. We guess what happened, about a year and a half after we bought the house our son & DIL took our grandchildren and moved 2300 miles away to the Portland, OR area. We still have the house, but travel several months a year, partly to go spend time with the grandkids in the summer. We are avid boondockers or dry campers, spending very little time in RV Parks. We also belong to Escapees RV club and are active on the Escapees' forum.

Welcome!
it is so important to spend time with the grandchildren. That is driving my decisions also.
i just tried to buy a house near the grandchildren (I was going to rent it while I full timed). I did not like the quality of house I could afford, so skipped it.
Now, a couple of months later, my son has lost his job and they might have to move out of state for work. So, I am glad I wasn't able to buy anything.
Welcome to the forum!

Welcome...as someone who has grandchildren in our future it's nice to hear you can stop for awhile then start again.
