We finally received an offer on the house! ( I say finally, but the house was only listed for about 80 days) When you are living in a bare bones house, no furniture left, dreaming of the open road, those 80 some odd days took forever. As long as the escrow goes smoothly we will be full timing in 30 days!!!
I just happen to work in the escrow/title field and of course all the what-ifs of escrow falling out are on my mind now. The family that has known the plans the last few years are starting to realize the reality, and most of them are not very happy about us leaving. We live in a small town, lots of family, all pretty close. I am a bit of the black sheep, always the gypsy. I get anxious, run off to another state, make a go of it for a while, then get anxious again, run off again. That's when I decided to start preparations for full time rv-ing. That was the only logical next step. But at my age (35) it is actually frowned upon not to be settled into a long life of the same job, in the same house, with the same routine every day. My military father and state employed (long term) mother just don't understand my yearnings for the open road. I decided the nomadic life was the life for me. Then I met an amazing partner who felt the same way. So 6 years later, all the debt is gone, we have a house we can sell... the proceeds will go to buying our rig, we are both jacks of all trades. we can do pretty much anything we put our minds too, and have.
So all of you out there in the nomad world, keep that positive energy flowing our direction that the closing of our house goes smoothly, then we will be joining you on the road living our RV-Dreams !
