Anyone make a small camper trailer with attached ground tent?

I own a 24' featherlite toy-hauler, but would like to down size for more remote locations..
What I'm looking for, is a small hard side camper which only contains the toilet, shower and kitchen.. Then a attached tent would be for sleeping living..
Does a rig like that exist? Every tent trailer I see is a pop up without shower/toilet.
Thanks!

Let's think it through.....why does it have to be attached? There is a lot of choices out there but nothing EXACTLY like you describe that I am aware of...why not just get something like a 17ft Casita...leave the dinette in the dinette posistion, then you have your toilet shower and kitchen with dinette. Carry a nice big tent, set it up, and your good to go....just not attached to trailer...One other thing comes to mind, you could enclose the casita Awning area, and sleep in there...

I'm trying to keep the same arrangement that I have now.. But shed the size and weight.. I don't want seating or sleeping space wasted when a tent is all you need. Attached to the bath/shower/kitchen systems.
After searching all morning, it looks like I would have to outfit a 8'-10' enclosed trailer with toilet/shower/kitchen and have a tent modified to snap onto the back.. I'm talking about a huge tent..
I'm surprised no one makes something like that.

I cannot visualize what you are talking about. So you want a stand-up travel trailer, not a popup, and how would this tent with living area be attached and how big would it need to be? You would probably have to modify something along the lines the of what Genecop is saying but can you tell me how this tent area would be attached?

The large tent would attach where the cargo trailer double doors are hopefully water tight.
The closest thing I can find is this..
this might work but not quite as big as I wanted..
Or this, but without the tent platform, and with the tent attached to the double door side..

Rebar, you said you were surprised that no one makes something like you describe. It probably DOES exist, but at a pretty hefty price. There aren't very many people that would want such an outfit, so the potential market is pretty small. Those who do need that generally have pretty hefty budgets to work with (think wildlife photographers for National Geographic, for example), so price isn't much of an obstacle.
Think about the advice that Genecop gave you. Find something that already exists that will come close to what you want. Focus a bit on your "mission profile" and figure out exactly what you need and want. You want to get into more remote areas - might that imply a stronger and maybe taller suspension? What will you be towing with? That will determine the weight of your trailer.
Why does the tent need to attach to the trailer? Why not a free-standing tent? How willing and able are you to build your own design? I suspect that you could buy a plain utility trailer for a few hundred dollars and built what you want for less than $1000 more.
Good luck on your research. Please keep us posted about what you find.

One other idea, a bit different but search Great West Vans, they make a real nice two piece setup, a nicely equipped van and a fiberglass trailer, they might do some light customization also....

No, there isn't anything like that on U S market. If you do a cargo trailer yourself, there is plenty of info on the web for setting up the electrical/plumbing. There is a website (tear drops and tiny trailers) and most build with a few doing cargo conversions so you might see if anyone has done something like that there. The UK and Australia have the most awesome and durable units I have ever seen, made to last and you won't find any like that here.

Thanks everyone. I guess most people either want it all, or to totally ruff it.
Frankly I don't have the time to build at the moment as I'm rebuilding my 6bt nv4500 E350. But one day I might have to build one. Along with all the other projects dancing around in my head.
Does anyone make a good 12' enclosed trailer that's as wide as my featherlite?

Check out Quick Silver VRV, nice lightweight unit, I think they will customize a little also....
