We have a single step Kwikee Electric Step. It started to act up by not retracting so I ordered a brand new complete kit with motro, gear box, controller. I changed it and boy was it giving greif. It was working backwards from the way it should. Open door and it would retract......Close door and it would come out. Played around troubleshooting this thing for quite a while. Well found out that the old magnetic door switch is a "Normally Open" contact and the new unit comes with a "Normally Closed" contact. So I changed the door contact and now it works great. Sure is a lot quieter too. The new unit is supposed to be an upgraded one with a better controller and better gear box. I just don't know why they'd change the door contact configuration. There was nothing wrong with the contactor so was just going to leave it be........But not the case.

Anyway thought give people a heads up if run into doing a similar upgrade.
