Yesterday I was Graced with an inattentive Driver who decided to attempt to pull out and said they never saw me!!!!.......how do you not see a big class A in the road coming at you!!
Needless to say and 12K worth of damage later Old Blue isnt looking pretty this week..tore it up from the front end and didnt miss a spot all the way to the rear bumper!!!!
but I have to say....new jeeps are built like crap!!!. I removed the whole front end of it , bumper ,fenders, hood, tires from the windshield forward....thank the spirits that only a little pride got hurt on both ends!!
me & Blue have retreated to the woods to lick our wounds and wait for the GIECO Lizard to come out with his wallet and give it a facelift.....the other guy left on a wrecker with a pile of Parts and tickets and one upset Maine State Trooper!

I am SO sorry to hear! You are right that it's great that only pride was hurt, but still, any financial and time setback is not very pleasant and is a huge inconvenience and pain in the (fill in the body part of your choice). I hope you and Blue recover quickly!

I, too, am glad that you were not hurt. I can understand, to a point, why he didn't see you because here, one of driver's driving a van for people with special needs pulled onto the highway into the side of a semi-truck, into the side, like an aggressive attack on the semi. So, if one can drive into the side of a semi........ I always tell my husband that what bothers me about driving is the other drivers because I feel confident to handle all "normal" circumstances. Hope the lizard really comes through for you!

Glad you are well, Mike. That is the main thing as insurance will generally fix the problems with "things." You've had enough issues with things related to the human body to want to have any more.

Mike, I have been thinking about you lately and thinking that we haven't heard from you in a while. Now I know why. So very glad you are O.K. You have such a wonderful attitude about everything that nothing I could say would top your positive attitude. This, too, shall pass and I hope all goes well for you. All the best, and thanks for checking in!

Cant trade up til I get this one fixed....they are having a boat builder come down to do the front damage and a metal fabrication Co. make new bay doors and the forward skirts.....then a new paint job all the way around and we are good to go!
The body shop has a loaner for me to use with full hook-ups while its being done so its not going to be to bad other than I will lose a couple weeks of sales , but again....no one got hurt and I will have time to try out a few new sign upgrades to increase sales on the road
Live , Breathe , Relax!!!.......the three things that allow me to control the outcome........

Glad you and Nikki are safe and that the lizard is taking care of you (so far). That's the concern of all of us.....the idiots on the road! A paint job is a good thing. Thanks for reminding us all to keep our perspective in the positive and for keeping us up to date!
Bet those Maine woods are still so beautiful in August.

Geez..............That's amazing they're going to fix it. Up here with that kind of said damage, to a '98, they'd write it off. Great they'll fix it down there. Check out http://visoneautomart.com/, you may be able to find all the body parts you need.
I just recently had to get both windshields replaced in mine after getting hit with road debris(Canadian side) when coming back from Bismarck, ND. Good thing I had glass coverage with a $50.00 deductible because the total bill was just shy of $2,000.00 Cdn. funds.

Glad all is well, Mike. The idiots on the road is why we decided all of our travels will be in-week and between morning and evening commute times. That won't eliminate all of the idiots, but it will reduce the number of exposures!

Glad to hear you are ok. We are doing the waiting game with insurance company and repair shop now, but nothing like yours. Ours was unfortunately, self inflicted damage. A real OOPS! But again, nothing near as scary as your inattentive driver. That is what really scares me when we're towing--other drivers. Don't get me wrong, some are courteous and cautious, but we've actually been scared senseless by drivers that look like they are going to "come aboard" while we're towing.
Hope you are back up and running soon.
