We are trying to locate a mid-range price rv park around the areas of Sarasota to Cape Coral. We do not need to be close th the ocean, and don't mind going inland a bit. From what I read here, it looks like I need to get this in the books. Last winter scared everyone into heading south!

You will need to do some real searching. The typical private park in that area goes for $1750.00, not $750.00
To get that price, you will need to move to the center of the state, away from the oceans on both sides, and a hundred miles north or better.
I do wish you luck.

Look at the Punta Gorda and Arcadia area. Those have been places with more reasonable prices. But, it has been a while since I checked.
We just booked at Seminole in North Fort Myers and they were already full in February and only had two spaces for January. That place is out of your price range at $1100 per month plus electricity.

Must be a good area to have fun in? Lots to do and see?

Thanks Junkman! That will be a big help. I did find one in Arcadia (Lettuce Lake Travel Resort/$535 + elec/last yrs rate) and one in Punta Gorda (Sun N Shade RV Park $725 + elec) I don't need anything fancy and I don't need to be anywhere by the ocean. ( I summer in MI and have all the beachfront I can handle for 5 months). I tend to like more of a campgroundy feel over a resorty type. I would probably faint over a 1000/month fee. I found a nice spot in Palm Springs CA for less than $600/mo and am confident I can do the same in Fl :)

I can pretty much conjure up fun wherever I am ;) but I am more of a nature girl ( hiking, biking, kayaking) type person than a dinner and a show type. So I don't need much entertainment. We do like to enjoy a cold one, preferably near a VFW of which we are members.

Sun N Shade is currently only taking long term (@ least 3 months) reservations at this point.

Gulf Waters is where we spend two winters. It is a good place. Last I knew they would not let you stay in February without also staying all of January and March.

Many of the upscale parks in both TX and FL have minimum stay times during the "season". Retama Village, in the Valley (TX) requires a minimum of 4 months during the peak season. Most of the upscale parks in the Valley have minimum stay times for a month or more rental.... although some still have daily/weekly rates.

Yea, I'm seeing issues.. trying to come up with a winter plan.. seem many stay put for the winter. While I want to see and do stuff.. and move on to the next place..
