As someone who used to sell alarms as part of my job, I'd encourage you to really check out reviews on any systems you consider. When I was dealing with alarms, the ones on vehicles that everyone liked were the ones that had multiple tones to their alarm. The only problem was that another vehicle going by with their "kickers" playing would set them off. Then, all the neighbors got ticked off because the systems went off for no reason.
I've never had alarms on anything except one house, so I'm not the most knowledgeable about them on RV's. That might be something that an RV Park might have rules about. After all, they do want to enforce their "quiet hours."

See my avatar.... best security system ever. Always alerts us to anything moving around the S&B... especially terrorist wabbits... beware She has the side benefits of being a portable treadmill... AKA let's go for a walk, Dad... and a non stop laugh riot when they test the tornado sirens or fire trucks go by.

I rarely hear of any rv getting robbed. Tvs are rigid mounted as most everything is. There just isn't normally a lot of "hot value" in there. Your situation may be different but this holds true for 90% of us.

Lets see....we have been fulltimers for 14 years. I never lock my storage compartments, or my truck compartments. And have never had a single item stolen. I DO lock my coach if away, and at night. I DO lock my truck doors if away.
We do not store our coach or leave it in places unattended for long (like the longest is if we are away for the day or out to dinner). SO that likely helps.

Steve, I was just stating my experience - and it is pretty indicative of what most fulltimers experience IMO. BUT, you are correct that it can happen at any time. If I was leaving my rig I would want it locked up, too.
My philosophy on the storage doors remaining unlocked is that I'd rather have a few chairs or hoses stolen than have to repair a bunch of busted doors. And have the rig repainted. Same on the truck. There is nothing of much value in the storage compartments....parts, chocks, hardware, paint, etc. Tools are locked in the truck itself.

We must not go to the places you do. Only Rv park we encountered gated was at a Fort Hood TX park. We stayed near New Orleans, Baton Rogue Louisiana. These are some of the roughest areas in country. On radio each morning reports of murders at night. Never an rv park problem. If you feel it is necessary though go for it. It's your comfort level that's important.

MAKE SURE...it,s a silent alarm
no one wants to hear the car or RV alarm going off while your away....seems most that have alarms seem to forget someone else has to listen to it when the owner is away !!!
My take on it.....if it accidentally goes off and disturbs others....the owner should be asked to leave.....upgrade the insurance and an alarm wont be needed....or just get a simple red blinking LED and an alarm sticker and the crook wont second guess it!!

Just as a thought, I'm not sure that leaving an alarm remote with the office will be a benefit. I would imagine that most RV parks would not accept one's remote because that could likely mean that they would be accepting the responsibility for someone's rig.

A friend of mine sells security alarms for cabins but I'm sure you could adapt for an RV.
I don't even use my truck alarm. Muchless one in my home.

I bought one made by West Oz I think. It's silver colored and works off AA batteries only: no hardwires. I just wanted something for $500-$600 with motion inside and motion sensors on the main compartment doors. I leave the compartments unlocked so maybe someone will run off without mangling my doors.

I seen on the web once…put a pair of large work boots and a large water dish outside, post an NRA number sticker, and a note on the door that says "Hey Bubba; me and Duke ran down to the store to get more ammo."
Anyone have any .. what's good ? what's bad ?
They seem fairly cheap.. Really a must have for me.. need something loud / and light to alert me nieghbors..
Looking at something like this..
