We are in NY and will be heading to Amazon in a few weeks for our second season. Our first stop is actually on Lake Erie. We stay at the Westfield KOA in Westfield, NY. This past spring coming up from Texas we tried a new route and it worked great, so we will be going that way next month. From Westfield, we will take I 90 to I 271 S to I71. Then to I75 down to Lexington, and from there take the Bluegrass Parkway to KY55 into Campbellsville.

Hi Ric,
When you got your contingent offer email after your interview, there would have been an attachment which had information about the approved campgrounds in the area. If you don't have it, PM me your email and I can send the newsletter to you. :)
I have only stayed at one so far - Lakeway Campground which is 5 miles from Amazon. It was basically a circle of rigs, each with a little bit of green space. It was a pretty simple place with no amenities to speak of other than full hookups. ie no office, buildings of any sort, cable connections etc. The owner was very pleasant to work with. Our biggest issue was the fact that we got very spotty phone coverage unless we were in town. We decided to move to Heartland Campground this year, which is right across the street from Amazon. However I understand they have a waiting list.
There is a website on facebook for Amazon Camperforce. If you join that page you will find several discussions about the pros and cons of the various campgrounds.

Hi Georgia!
Just wanted to let you know we arrived in Campbellsville today. The route I told you about was great. The only change we made was to take I-275 today around Cincinnati. Traffic wasn't bad at all and it was an easy and uneventful trip. :)

Amazon is growing again as I hear they are hiring the Work Force in Murfressboro TN. this Season. A man stopped by the Campground office here looking for space! Said he'd be working there!
My last year at Amazon was the Fall/Winter of 2011. I stayed at the Old Country Store just before The Stables!
