Well, as some of you probably already know, we sold our home in less than 72 hours. Not one photo had been taken, not to mention it never even hit the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). After a frantic 5 weeks, we closed less than 3 weeks ago. One down, one to go.
We recently renovated the townhouse and completion was Monday, with a minor repair on Tuesday. Yesterday, the listing went live at 3:00P and our agent (my aunt)received a phone call inquiring about the townhouse just moments later. Within a couple of hours, we already had TWO SHOWINGS and they took place LAST NIGHT! Today, however, was like being in a casino and hitting the jackpot! In a 24-hour period, we have a total of 20 showings scheduled, most of which happened today. Scheduling overlapped and at one point today there were 3 potential buyers there at the same time! Five more (so far) are scheduled for tomorrow and Saturday and I don't see an end in sight! Oh, and did I mention we already have two contracts! The townhouse is in close proximity to Rice University, The Texas Medical Center, Greenway Plaza, downtown Houston... The first offer was from a young doctor. Hmmm...
I really am not one to brag, but I must say I am so proud. I designed the renovation all by myself and it turned out just beautiful (so they tell me)! If interested, you can see our listing by clicking here: http://search.har.com/engine/6462-Burgoyne-Rd-58-Houston-TX-77057_HAR73819492.htm. Our agent is already telling people we will not make a decision until Monday. Let the bidding war begin!!!
On another bright note, our new baby (RV) was born this week! I would include a photo, but have no clue how to do that! It should be finished being built any day now, then off to paint in 2-3 days. It will take about 3 weeks to paint, then return to the factory for exterior installations. After that, it goes to the dealer (Tiara RV) in Elkhart, IN (awesome dealership) for inspections, and then we have our PDI and sleep over on the lot. For about 1-2 weeks afterward, we will have our very own first experience in an RV (git yer mind outta da gutta!) and officially become members of the Class of 2014. Next stop... the RV Dreams Fall Rally! YEAH!!! We leave Katy, TX on my birthday, August 13th, for Indiana to pick her up. (I was told by Chris Grathen at the factory that he thinks it's a girl!) We will be towing a 10' X 12' utility trailer with all of our worldly belongings.
So, what more can I say other than God has been faithful. We are blessed. Praying for those who are in waiting!!!
P.S. As I am writing this my mother calls. She is hosting Bunko at her house tonight. One of the ladies there was asking everyone if they knew anyone who had a car for sell... her mother just totaled theirs. My mom snuck out to call me and ask if she should have the lady call. Our car is the only thing we have to get rid of.
Did I say we are blessed? We are. Very. Hope you are, too!

Really awesome, Jo! Beautiful place, too; glad it sold so quickly.
I hope to see you at the rally, IF my recovery from surgery goes smoothly. At this moment, there's only about a 50% chance that I'll be ready to travel by then.

we just moved to the area for dh's medical treatment and are staying in a little rv park right in town.
it's amazingly convenient and I think I could buy almost anything I've ever wanted within a 10 mile radius!

Jo & Craig,
I just could not be happier for you two. You've lovingly taken care of an aunt that delayed your RV dreams for a loooong time. Then you went ahead and did all the refurbishing work on the condo and did so beautifully I might add.
You deserve every bit of success coming your way!

Thanks to everyone for your heartfelt words. I can't tell you how much it means to us to have fInally made it to this point in time; hence, the name of my blog that I haven't had the time or energy to update just yet. Cheryl, best wishes to you and I hope all goes well. Here's hoping you and Mitch will make the rally. Sherry, you almost made me cry! I have neglected staying in touch with you and so many more fellow dreamers. For that I am sorry, but I am sure you understand.
Update on the townhouse... we have had 36 showings scheduled and 2 open houses in 3 short days with a total of about 60 potential buyers. Best of all, we have at least 3 offers, one of them offering $8,000 over asking price and NO CLOSING COSTS! ! We will tally up all offers tomorrow night and make our decision on Monday.
When I say God is good and He is faithful, I am living it!
All the best to those in waiting!!

UPDATE! (Deb, close your ears! )
Well, in just 4 short days, the bidding war is over. We had a total of 5 contracts! We have accepted an offer for $15K over the asking price with no closing costs. We shall see how the appraisal, etc. shakes out, and closing is August 28th. So, once again, we are so very blessed. Now all we have to do is sit back... and wait... but we still hit the open road on August 13th! See you in Indiana!!!

If they are requiring an appraisal after a bidding war, they can try to come back with a lower price if the appraisal fails. Keep those other four bidders in the loop. A friend ended up being the buyer after losing a bidding war since the winning bidder could not close the deal and she could.
