OK, so we're not introverts, we enjoy lots of social interaction, however, tonight we absolutely LOVED our privacy. For 8 weeks we've camped in locations with minimal privacy, state parks where sites were just as close as any commercial park and a hiking trail right behind the RV, a state park where our site was next to the ampitheater, fairgrounds parking, art show parking where we crowded together, casino blacktop boondocking (free but close to neighbors), etc. etc. We've had 5 days of art shows in the last 10 calendar days in which we meet the best and worst of people you can ever imagine, have to have the "game face" on at all times, visit with other artists who are all still struggling due to the ongoing economic challenges and just feel like we have to be "on" at all times.
While we both score high on the extrovert scale, this afternoon when we set up in a state park and realized that once our trailer was parked, chairs set up, we could stare into nothing but greenery and see NO OTHER PEOPLE, life was great!!! Yes, we have 2 more social engagements this week with old friends before we leave the area we once lived in, but none of those engagements are at our home on wheels, so no need to clean like crazy and declutter the normal work "stuff".
Every once in a while we just need to feel like we're alone, no one in our space, no one in our line of site, take a deep breath......
Yes, life is good

Hey, Ruth...
...tell us where you are and we'll ALL come visit you.
Seriously, though, enjoy the down time. While we are still around people, we are now in Colorado and the views are much better for us as well.

As extroverts ourselves, we have really enjoyed the down time. Love people and meeting them, but time with just my hubby and creation has been very soothing to our souls.

I'm happy to hear that you have found a place to call,,, your own,, for a little while. I fully understand. Not being on the higher end of the extrovert scale myself I have about had my share of human contact while here in Portland visiting family. I love them but can only handle so much human contact. And of course being in a city like Portland is bad enough LOL!!
Sit back, decompress and enjoy!!

Ruth & Dale,
You continue to wear me out! Truly don't know how you do it with both businesses and all that living on the road involves! But I love that you do, you set such a great example for others. So glad you found a peaceful spot to regroup. I can almost see a book in your travels?
We're in the state of Enchantment and almost back to AZ. Want us to pick up a case or a few bottles of that Hatch Green Chili wine for you (we have room) in that great winery in Deming?
Hope to see you soon. Keep on truckin'.

Sherry - you would have laughed if you could have seen us Sunday night after we loaded out of our art show. Sleep deprived, physically exhausted and both so tired that neither of us could make any decisions or barely function. So thankful we didn't have to drive anywhere this year until the Monday after that show, we know that when the question of what to have for dinner leaves us both stymied it's time to get some sleep.
Thanks for the offer of wine but unlike you and Jesse, we don't have the weight or storage capacity for a case or two, our wine is bought on a "just in time" method. Now, if and when Dale quits doing art shows, we might just have a little more room in the RV for all the wineries we keep bypassing.
We'll see you in AZ this winter, a visit to Sedona is starting to really work it's way into our travel plans

I think I agree, I am such an extrovert, but hubby isn't, but we both need down-time sometimes. After all these years, I just know he needs it more often than me, and that's ok. There is nobody I would rather be with!

I hear you Ruth, and couldn't agree more. Our WA visit of almost 4 months was busy, busy, busy. Enjoyed all the family get togethers. But...we are heading East on the 28th. First stop will be a COE park near Priest River, ID and we are sooo looking forward to the up and coming peace. We have a bottle of wine chillin' for our 'On The Road Again' celebration.
See ya down the road!

Love the Just in Time wine method...totally cracked me up. I know I've said it before but I totally agree with Sherry ...love what you guys are doing. The way you've combined your two careers while living the lifestyle is incredibly impressive. Back to your original post, despite having a job where I talk all the time..In my personal life I am an introvert and Lee is the extrovert. It will be interesting to balance the need for solitude versus the need for outside human interaction.
