Hubby and I are wannabe RVers. We have just started the search. We are looking at fifth wheels. We are planning a trip to New Braunfels for a look at a Texas sized RV dealer. We're thinking used, just because they seem to be plentiful and a bit cheaper. We have some acreage in the country where we can park it and use as a weekend place. but we would also like to take trips with the grandkids, and by ourselves once Mr. Man retires. I'm so glad to have found this forum.

Welcome, Carol.
I think you will find lots of answers to your questions here, because the folks here are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and encouraging. If looking at a towable, keep in mind the weight capacities of any truck that you may already own. If you've not got a truck, then choose your trailer first and then get a truck that is capable of safely handling that size of trailer.
Since you will be looking in New Braunfels, check out Evergreen RV. I don't know if she is still there, but a lady by the name of Melinda King worked there and would be very helpful to you. She's been in the RV industry for years and was even a factory rep for a while.
Good luck in your research and planning.

Carol,
I have to update my above comment a bit. I heard today that Melinda King is no longer working for any RV dealership. Sorry for giving an incorrect comment. Sadly, I don't know anyone else in that area that could provide help to you.
