I've read and watched this forum and blogs for three years, now. I research RVs constantly. I have tent-camped and hammock-camped, but I've never spent the night in an RV. I never comment on the forum, because I really have no experience to share. But, finally, it's beginning. I listed a LaZBoy and a wicker chair set on Craig's List. No responses, but still, it feels like I am on my way a little.
I will retire from teaching after this coming school year. Depending on snow days, my work as a high school Biology Teacher will end in May or June of 2015. I know that the next year will be tough... I live in a rural area and houses nearby have been on the market for three years. I have so much to do, and will still be working the same old 70 hourish work week.
But it is a start.

Don't sell yourself short. You may have knowledge useful to others. Perhaps you know something about money, photography, repairing things, insurance, the list goes on and on. Sure, an opinion is only worth you pay for it, but that does not make it worthless necessarily. It may jog somebody elses memory and help the community at large. So chime in on things, inquiring minds really do want to know. Ask away on things you don't know or have experience with. Somebody will certainly be able to help you or point you in the right direction before you make a costly mistake. It's all good.

Welcome to the forum.........Dont worry about not knowing about the inside of an RV........Being able to identify one is half the battle, and being able to identify yourself as being part of the lifestyle is the most important part!!

Laura,
Welcome! I really liked the post that suggested getting your home professionally inspected before you list. It might be a good place to start, give you time to take care of any issues and put you ahead of those other home sellers in your area when it's time.
Welcome again. I agree with Brian, you may well have other experience to share and even experienced RVers can learn from others.
Welcome again.

Want to sell your home fast?
Get it professional appraised prior to putting it on the market. You then will know what it is really worth, and more importantly the amount that most lending institutions will lend.
Place the house on the market at that price or 10% higher is you want negotiating room. I never added 10%. My listed price was my price. NO negotiating was needed or accepted. Saves a lot of "back and forth."
I have done this successfully with 5 houses over 30 years. It works well. My last house sold in 8 days, full price, cash.

Laura, It all has to begin somewhere and sounds like you're taking the first steps. We can speak personally that we were not knowledgable either about 4 years ago and we are still learning tons and by the time we leave in 2 years....will STILL be learning! :) If you can at all attend one of the rally's it would benefit you so much! The seminars, and just the interaction of everyone who is close to going full-time or already full-timing is amazing and will answer so many more questions for you. Good luck and it's great that you can soon retire! Enjoy this part of your life and you have tons to look forward too! Take care...
