I hope I'm not jinxing it but we have a contract on our house. We've had one contract fall thru but that was before Christmas. Then, two other potential buyers came down to our house and another only to pick the other. We sit on a creek that runs between two small ponds in our development which requires you to have flood insurance. That has been a major hurdle plus our part of Texas has been a soft real estate market. Anyway this appears to be really solid but anything can happen.
Selling this house has been the most frustrating and at times depressing thing we've ever done. If we ever own another house it will be the kids responsibility to get rid of it.
We had plans to attend the spring rally but decided it was too close to our daughter's wedding to run off, turns out nothing was going on during that time but oh well. Our plans are to purchase a fifth wheel and live in a park close to my job. We want to get out of debt before hitting the road so it will be a few years before we can get out of this Texas summer heat. We won't have a truck to move it for awhile so I guess that makes us trailer trash. Everyone please keep your fingers crossed this goes through.

Good luck with the sale! If you're going to have to continue to endure summers in TX make sure you buy a rig with 2 A/C units, the sweltering heat is just one of many reasons we will never be in TX again in summer unless it's a family emergency.

Jimmy and Janis,
Let us join the others to hope your sale goes thru smoothly. You're getting close and closer to your dream. The next couple of years will both drag and time will also fly. Soon you'll be heading to NE or somewhere else cool to spend your summers.

Wow Jimmy & Janis
We are a bit similar. I don't have a truck but my 5er is in storage in St Louis just waiting for me. I have to sell my mobile home in this sad market in Wisconsin. I had my 1st garage sale this weekend and did okay but will have my 2nd & final one at my sister's community this coming weekend. I know fretting over getting $200 less for my dining set will make no difference in 5 years. Tried to sell plants from my secret garden and didn't sell many but told several to go back and enjoy the garden. Hopefully someone knows someone who knows someone that would love to take over my garden. But did show my place to 3 people this weekend. First ones since January. It is taking FOREVER to sell my place.
I have a bed, desk and recliner for furniture. I can be out in 2 days. :)
I too want to be out of debt before hitting the road so will be moving to and working in STL until I am debt free and until my friend gets her rig.
