We sold our house through a realtor friend last month and moved into our RV full-time but we are still somewhat stationary until hubby decides to retire From his government job. To keep myself busy I took a real estate class, passed the exam and now am a licensed Virginia Real Estate agent (whoo wooo - both excited and a little scared to get started). I figured this is something I can do in the meantime or later on in the right retirement community and also something that I can do as much or as little as I choose.
Here are some of my questions - any other agents able to make a career while traveling/living on the road Full-time? does anyone focus on just referring people you meet to local agents? Do you have a network of agents? Thanks for any info or thoughts as I try to pin down my future marketing direction and learn more about this thing called Real Estate!!

I read a blog several years ago by a real estate agent that travelled the country. He worked at large new home or condo developments showing the model homes and then referring prospective buyers to one of the development companies realtors. He got a very small commision for units sold at most of the developments others paid him a straight salary. He could usually park his RV somewhere on the property while working for the company.
He also would go to high volume realty companies and offer to show houses for the high producing agents. He usually received a small commission when the property sold.
