A reminder that today is the "recognized" day to memorialize those that gave their lives for our freedoms. By their actions and sacrifices, we all have the freedom to live in a lifestyle that lets us travel all over our country and not have to show "papers" at each border we cross.
Thanks also to all my fellow veterans out there. Jo and I will be attending the Memorial Day ceremonies at the 45th Infantry Division Museum here in Oklahoma City this morning.
Oh, by the way, if you are through Oklahoma City, the 45th Infantry Museum is an excellent one to see, especially if you happen to like seeing old weapons dating back to at least the Revolutionary War. I highly recommend it.

Have an enjoyable day and just take 30 seconds of your time to remember all the Fallen Warriors.

GOD Bless all of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our Freedom. There is no Greater Love than to lay down your life for anotherod!
Remember:
It's The Soldier -Father D. E. O'Brien
It's the soldier, not the reporter Who has given us freedom of the PRESS.
It's the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of SPEECH.
It's the soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to DEMONSTRATE.
It's the soldier, not the lawyer, Who has given us the right to a FAIR TRIAL.
It's the soldier who salutes the flag, Serves under the flag And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who gives the protester the right to burn the flag.

Bernie,
Others are remembered as well. After all, on more than one occasion, the armies of the U.S., Canada, and Britain (and others as well) have fought for the same freedoms that all of us cherish. I remember them every time I cross a state line and don't have to stop and "show my papers."
At today's ceremony in Oklahoma City, there were various unit color guards that participated, including the Air Force, a contingent in Colonial uniforms carrying early American flags, and one color guard made up of veterans of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN). Seeing the ARVN veterans there reminded me of this man:
So, our thanks also go out to the Canadian vets as well. Anyone who has served in a capacity for freedom deserves thanks.
