Aloha all. My name is Mike and I am currently in the Air Force stationed in Hawaii. We (my beautiful wife Yvette and I) will be retiring from here in 2 years (God willing and the creek don't rise) and we are jumping right into full timing as it has been a goal for us for many many years. I have spent far to many years out of my own country and away from my family and this will give me the opportunity to travel North America and spend time with my wife and visit family. Since there are no RV's in Hawaii I have been looking on line to see what we would like to purchase. So far I have decided on a good used Class A Diesel Pusher, but I have a few years to narrow it down. We are already Florida residences so we will keep that as our home base. I really enjoy learning from everybody here as well as other Full Time RV websites and we are really excited to start our new adventure.
Mahalo,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Welcome...when you stay there are no RVs in Hawaii do you mean none?? I'm curious because we have that state on our sticker map and wondering how I will ever get to fill that in :)

None? Hmmmm, I'm sensing business opportunity.
Welcome Mike. 2 years will pass quickly and you've found a great place to do your research along with friendly people. As ex-Navy I won't hold the the Air Force service against you We got "Maui'd" in Hawaii, sure is a pretty state and we hope to return again. I'm with Lee and Trace, going to have to figure a way to "legally" apply the Hawaii sticker to the future rig

I have seen a few RV's (maybe 2), but they are in the storage lot at the base. Never seen any on the road except one in the bed of a pickup driving around. Brian, don't hold the Air Force against me too much, I also have 11.5 years in the Navy as Aircrew in the P-3. I'm putting my Hawaii sticker on my map when I get it, I have camped all over here and if nothing else it will be a great conversation starter. Thank you all for the warm welcome. I really enjoy all the information and tips I get from all of you.

Welcome Mike & Yvette,
We, too, thank you for your service! Jesse is retired Navy and a couple of years ago we stayed in one of the wonderful beachfront cottages on the base at the Missile station in Kauai. It was great, except for that very loud, very secret something that launched right next to our bed, I swear! I scoured the whole island for an RV but was told they were just too large for that island anyway. Think that qualifies us for a sticker though!
Welcome to our family!

Thanks Sherry,
We stayed at those beach cottages last year and had a great time. There are also cottages here in Oahu in Kaneohe, Barbers Point and Waiainae if you ever make it back here.
