Selling 9 year old vs 10+ year old RV---issues or not?

We are inside 6 months on our timeline to purchase a used DP and 12 months from hitting the road. As we close in on the model we want, I notice that lenders either do not loan on coaches over 10 years old or the rates/down payment is higher. We estimate that we will full-time for 3 years beginning in 2015. So, is it better to buy a 2009 or newer coach in order to broaden the future buyers market in 2018 or don't worry about it since a good quality/well maintained 10+ year old coach will draw buyers who will figure out how to pay?

it will depend on the selling market at that time........I would buy something newer I could put an extended warranty on that was transferable, that way you would be able to recoup more in the end and sell quicker because the warranty is there

As a military member (thank you for your service) we were able to finance 100% on a 97 DP through USAA. As long as the cost was within the blue book we were fine and they even adjusted the loan value up as we learned of additional features/add ons that were in the unit we we bought from a private seller. We already have a couple of buyers in line to purchase our unit (at or above the cost we paid) when we are ready to upgrade. If you find a good deal on a DP in good condition you should be able to turn it in 3- years or maybe our uniT is old enough it's not depreciating nearly as fast these days!
