I think ours are ugly and want to use insulated sheer drapes to the floor instead.
has anyone done this?
it seems like it should be easy enough. the valances are simply screwed in, so I will remove them and hang the drapes in their place. the drapes will hide the screw holes on the sides of the windows, now I have to figure out how to hang them under the cabinet over the window.
any ideas or pictures you know of?

We removed the lambrequins in the living area and replaced the day/night shades with 2" wooden Veneitian blinds. You can do what you want, it is yours.

thanks I do intend to do it, was hoping to see some details on how to do the job.

Look for a right angle drill kit, like this one from Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Milescraft-1302-Drilling-Attachment-Magnetic/dp/B000KICSGQ. I got one at a hardware store and used it to drill and screw up under the cabinet.
