I will retire in one year!!! Good Lord willing we will sell out and hit the road sometime next summer (2015). my wife and I have a fifth wheel and a truck and are looking forward the the freedom we hear so many of you talk about. The most difficult part will be leaving our church and church family, but believe that God can use us along the way and God's family is vast. Would appreciate any words of wisdom any of you might have to offer. Thanks in advance and look forward to meeting many of you along the way!!

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. This is a good place to do research because of the number of folks and they knowledge that they possess. Feel free to ask any questions related to RV'ing and the RV lifestyle because we all tend to learn from each other. Our only taboo topics are politics and religion, for obvious reasons, but it never hurts to offer a "God bless you" or a "prayers are for you."
As for leaving the church family, we will be doing the same in about two months. As for me, our current church family will always remain as such, but we also look forward to meeting new members in new places.

Indeed we are!! And would not have it any other way!!! Left a 3300 square foot home on 5 acres and a lot of stuff we did not need, and walked away from two 6-figure jobs which were going to kill us both.....we now have a beautiful little spot here at the KOA, I work full time in the office, he mows grass and levels sites and repairs electrical and plumbing issues......
We aren't rolling in money but we sure are happy!!! That, my friend, is living the dream.

Hi Hairtriger!
Welcome to the dream!!! We live in sw MO as well. We've moved into the motor home. Our house is for sale. We've spent the last few months purging, selling, and fixing the MH. We've taken some trips with this rig as well as a little trailer we used to own. We are so looking forward to getting out to see the country.

Hairtriger,
The most difficult part of the FT decision for DW & I was whether God was calling us to leave a great church family. We are trusting Him, His plan & direction as we just step forward in faith. We will be exploring volunteer opportunities and look forward to visiting churches and meeting new "family."
I like Lucky Mike's idea: bring church with us.
