Below is copied from another Forum Board. It is not really RV related but with the power of a lot of people, strength in numbers, could help this little girl.............She gets my votes.
Please read below and help if you can. It doesn't cost any money just a bit of your time.
I am asking for the power of the people to help my daughter win a contest. It is as much for my wife and I as it is for her. She is 5yrs old so clearly she isn't the one driving. But please click on the link and vote for her once a day. Below the link is a copy of our written submission for the contest.
I thank you in advance for all that help! It means a lot to see people we have never met be willing to assist!
I am proud to nominate my daughter Riley who is my hero and my life! Riley is a twin and was born at 25 weeks, 1.7 lbs. Riley and her sister Reagan spent the first 3 months of their lives in the NICU struggling to survive. I knew early on that Riley was special! While in the NICU, Riley was always just a few steps behind her sister. She took longer to get off the ventilator and was behind due to an infection that causes destruction to the intestine. Her fight was long and all we could do was be there to show how much we love her. After their release, we were overjoyed at their homecoming but scared for the unknown that was ahead. The twins came home on oxygen, 2 monitors, and a long list of meds. Not the typical homecoming new parents imagine. As time passed, I noticed Riley falling further behind. Riley took longer to get off the oxygen and monitors. Her meds list shortened but was still there after Reagan’s had stopped. Reagan began sitting up, crawling, standing, and walking while Riley remained stagnant. We worked with Early Intervention getting her the support she needed. She worked with occupational and physical therapists and still does today. She was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 3. Despite getting therapy, Riley still doesn’t walk. As Riley grows, it has been getting more difficult to transport her. We carry her to get around our home, into the car, and lift her wheelchair in the trunk of our current vehicle (which is 10 years old, nearing 100,000 miles). We continue the struggle to accommodate her needs: equipment, AFO’s and physical therapy. Despite these obstacles, Riley remains a happy child! She is the only child in her school in a wheelchair. Her classmates know there is nothing Riley can’t do, she just does it in a different way. Her friendly smile and infectious laugh help others see beyond her disability! She answers questions kids curiously have and naturally implements acceptance. Riley has advocated change for her daycare which is slowly working on handicap accessibility. She works with her inclusion aide to participate in activities. We continue moving forward making Riley a catalyst for change in our community. Her strong determination in life will one day take her a few steps ahead. A new van will make sure we get her there!

What a brave, sweet warrior. Voting takes a second, she'll surely get my two-a-day.
Thanks for the opportunity to help.

She's getting near to 10,000 votes. Keep them coming. You can vote everyday......not just once. Also if you answer the bonus question correct that gives her an extra vote. She gets 2 from me every day.

Trailerking,
That is a heartfelt post and I appreciate your great caring & wanting to help but I personally feel this belongs more on FaceBook than on an RV forum.
This is from a mom of a CP child myself,
Sherry

Well that's your personal feeling so don't participate. I'm not a "BookFacer" and I don't see how it "Belongs" there.
One would think that being posted under "Community Chat" would be appropriate. I've read many posts that are not "RV" related. I don't see the problem.
Sorry to inconvenience you.

A lot of us don't use Facebook. Working for a law enforcement agency and seeing the risks to personal safety and computer security will give one a whole new perspective of the danger of social media formats.
Jo and I have discussed getting on Facebook so we could see newer photos of our grand-kids. However, I am really hesitant about signing up. While I'm not afraid of posting my name out on the RV forums, if I were to sign up on Facebook, I might suddenly become Bolivar Snagnasty with a false birth date.
When one's only resource for social media is an RV forum, I see no problem with threads like this one. However, I have to admit that I haven't "voted" for the young lady, but that is because it seems one has to sign up to vote.

Just thought I'd throw up an update for anyone that may be interested.
I know some felt this was a Non-RV related topic and it belonged on BookFace....................But whatever. Thanks to a lot of those that helped vote placed her in the Semi-Finals. Hope she can get it, it's all up to the judges now. I personally don't know her or the family but I thought the little girl deserves it.
