Typepad was able to get our site up and running for several hours each day, but this morning the attack intensified and we've been unable to log in and our Journal hasn't been accessible by the public for hours. At this point we have no idea when it might be back up. Fortunately, our content is safe.
Too bad I can't post 'cause I've got some great photos from yesterday's waterfall tour.
Anyway, just thought we should make as many people aware as possible.
And this is why we have the main website, the Journal, and the Forum all on different platforms with different hosts and then tie them together. At least two out of three will work when one is down.

Thank you so much, Howard! We thought it may have been our internet connection - we still use dialup!

Thanks for the update. We had tried to access the journal several times, and it looked different on each device. Sometimes we just got an error message. So it is very erratic. I hope they catch the people who are doing this!!!

Everything finally became operational last night (Tuesday) around 9:00. Got the waterfall tour posted, but I'm still catching up. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hey...while the Journal was down I actually got some work done around the house!! :) (that's a good thing ..right?!) I started reading from 2005 a few weeks ago...I'm working my way through March 2009 right now!
Hi Everyone,
Since last Thursday night, cyber criminals have been attacking our Journal/Blog software & host, Typepad (http://techcrunch.com/2014/04/21/say-media-owned-blogging-platform-typepad-enters-day-5-of-on-and-off-ddos-attacks/). In these attacks, the criminals flood the servers with data causing service nightmares and then they try to extort money.
