I know this has been covered before, but my search really did not answer my question...
We had some light rain about a week ago, and today I noticed a stain in the ceiling carpet around the TV antenna control. Can I possibly just get some kind of sealant to patch around the antenna mount on the roof of my 2008 Fleetwood Flair?
Thanks,
Roger

first check the coax boot on the base and make sure it is tight...not cracked or torn , then we need to know whether it is a rubber roof or fiberglass.....
or just pickup some Dicor self leveling roof sealant at the RV store or from amazon and away you go!!

Thanks Mike, I hope to take care of it tomorrow as they predict light rain for this Sunday.

Hey Mike, went on the roof and the boot was completely off. May have been the problem, I put some dicor around the boot , put a bead around where an old bead is...may have been overkill.
Thanks again,
Roger

Thank Mike
BTW, it is a rubber roof and one thing I noticed when I was up there...there were a few small dime size tears in the white top where I could see the black undercoating. Is this a concern?

YES YES Don't wait till you see a leak on your sealing, You can get roof coating and coat your entire roof (that's what I would do), or replace your entire rubber roof. ( much to expensive for me).

I have to add" if its a newer motorhome maybe a limb caught it and all you need some of that tape that sticks to everything. (can't remember the name;) camping stores carry it.

The tape is sometimes called Eternabond. If you have tears in a flat area, it will help stop leaks but after a year or so take a look at it, sometimes, depending on the brand of tape, it does start to work loose. If the tear is in an area that is uneven, make sure it is completely dry underneath the rubber membrane or the air pocket allows water to keep condensing and you will slowly rot out the wood underneath.
If you decide to coat the roof, make sure it is a product that says it stops leaks. In our years of working on RV roofs we have found out that the salesperson will sell you something to stop a leak but when you read the fine print on the directions it says that all leaks have to be sealed first. Gaco makes a good do it yourself product that fills in small leaks and cracks and was made to go over EPDM.
