So far, I'm not finding anything wrong. Just hope the inspection is good too.
As for the truck (2007 Ford F350 dually), it has a tow package (they call it tow boss), so I'm feeling pretty confident this is a good and safe combo for us.

you have nowhere to add fuel........lp is already onboard.......you add diesel you will have to add fuel tanks

diesel onan generator.....roughly 8.5K plus installed
lp onan generator roughly 5.5k installed...........this is for 6500 watts with no add ons.....diesel will require fuel tank add ons and extra venting and fire proofing..

A little off topic, but do you think with that genny I would also need solar panels. I probably wouldn't be off the grid for more than a week at a time.

I think your caught up in the moment......both is always good if your going to be off grid for a week at a time , if I was left with the choice to start out , it would depend on my budget....but a generator will charge my batteries at midnite if needed.......it will run my A/C at high noon.......and it will run the coffee pot and the toaster in the morning...........solar will not do any of the above.
but on the same thought.......a good portable generator and a good solar package could be had for less than a propane generator installed.
I asked the owner and not having the need for a generator, really didn't know. However, she did provide me with the sales receipt showing the options purchased, and one says "generator box installed". There is also a photo which shows some wires in the box: http://s64.photobucket.com/user/cherylbnj/media/Generatorbox_zps58c8c81f.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0
Is it safe to assume this is generator ready?
And yes, the rig is 50 amp.
