We recently purchased a smarter tools 2000w generator from Costco (Yamaha motor). When we plug it into the trailer it will not run on the "smart idle" position and overloads even when we have nothing running in the trailer.
When taken off the "smart idle" it revs really high and seems to work very hard even when nothing is running in the trailer. I have gone through the breakers switching them on and off while the generator is going and it seems to make no difference in how hard the generator works.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why the generator has to work so hard?

inverter/converter/battery charger?
is it a 50 amp plug converted to 30 then to 110?
did somebody modify or make one of the jumpers or change a plug?
have you load tested the generator with an electric heater or blow dryer with the coach not plugged in .....does the generator respond correctly while under the load test....2000 watts only gives you a safe 15 amps
if your main is off at the panel there should be no load.....if there is you could have a wiring problem from the shore cord in
