Starting to plan our journey from Dallas TX back to Sacramento CA in mid-April as we exit from the much needed "family support mode" to full blown "work" with art shows in north/central CA for Dale plus my normal "day job". Looks like we'll be spending 5 days or so in the SoCal area of Palm Springs and seeing "sticker shock" at the prices for parks, especially considering our week there will be arriving on a Sunday evening, working all week, departing Saturday AM after a "normal" work week. Researching RVParkreviews.com, Passport America, etc. trying to find a reasonable place to stay for 6 nights/5days that won't totally destroy the budget that isn't a horribly rated place is becoming more of a challenge than I thought possible. We are not there for R&R, just need a reasonable place to spend the week working while traveling the weekends on either side of the stay.
Feeling overwhelmed trying to do all this while providing much needed physical and emotional support to family in the Dallas area, so asking, and thanking this RV Dreams family in advance for any suggestions!!!

On your way to Sacramento, if you are passing through Bakersfield, Camping World is a good free place to park with electrical hookups to boot.
We are currently at Desert Willow Park in Hesperia. It's clean, gated and the folks are friendly. There are all kinds of stores at your finger tips if you need to get any supplies or restaurants to eat at.

We've stayed at Indian Waters in Indio, they use to accept passport America which made it reasonable for Southern CA prices.

We also stayed at the Indian Waters in Indio,,, with Karin and Bob part of the time in fact LOL! Not a bad park at all and the Passport America made it very affordable. In fact we stayed there 2 weeks and it averaged out to $16 per night.

Thanks all! Will be working on my planning tomorrow now that we've confirmed our exit from Texas date. Really, really looking forward to getting back on the road in our normal travel mode!
