I saw a post about this on an RV blog today and I have to admit, this sounds like my dream workamping setup! Has anyone here done this, or know where around the country (preferably East Coast) it's a possibility?
I'm getting ahead of myself, I know.....but this is the sort of discovery that really inspired me and gets me working even harder to reach my dream!

Nina and Paul from www.wheelingit.us/ have and are again this year. And
Cherie and Chris from www.technomadia.com/ have as well.
You would have to look back under last years summer blogs to find the info, but I remember they had a great time.

We hosted at Cape Blanco in Oregon last year, and loved it so much we're going back this fall (joining up with our buddies Nina & Paul).
And Nina & Paul have several posts on their blog as well about their various hosting positions, and how to go about finding volunteer gigs. Believe they have several lined up this summer in the PNW.
I don't know what opportunities are available on the east coast, but have heard that some of the Florida lighthouses have similar programs.

One warning is with many lighthouse hosting jobs, is they expect two people. My in-laws hosted at many lighthouses in Oregon and Washington and they expected one person to be arranging the tours/taking the money and the other to do the tour/talking. They didn't care if it was two men, two women or mixed, sharing the task, but they only supplied one campsite for two.

Here's our wrap up post about the experience, including a video tour the four of us did:
