605 days to go. Received my conversion adapter to make my truck tail lights compatible with my trailer. Yesterday, my air brake to electric brake controller arrived. Waiting patiently for the dealer to advise that he has shipped my 5er. I asked that he keep her wrapped in a blanket until she ships. I don't like to think of my baby shivering in the cold dark Ohio night.
Next step is is to get the truck licensed and insured. Wire up the lights, install the brake controller and install an RV hitch. We are looking forward to the maiden voyage. Learning what we need to fill our cupboards witH, what equipment we will need to purchase to operate day to day. It's the wisdom of this group that makes it possible to do this like a pro rather than a novice.

Good to hear, Mark. However, as for learning things, I'm still doing that, even after all the years of camping/rv'ing and then living full time in ours for almost 3 years. A recent plumbing issue sent me out in search of a solution, and I now have a back-up ready for the next one.
One thing about it, you've got "plenty of time to learn."

Mark,
I'm not yet counting the days, but if I were, I'm at 697, or three-months behind you. However, you're way ahead of me regarding your RV since we don't have our DP or Toad yet, nor will we until we get closer to our "take-off" date based on some logistical issues of where we're living currently.
Best of luck and maybe see you on the trail ...

Mark,
We have a park that's close to a Super Walmart. Makes it easy to get the can opener, etc. that you forgot and by the time you go home your just about good to go.
Where's Lucky Mike....Looks like Terry's not gonna get a penalty!!

I believe you never stop learning. There is always new methods and technology to improve old ways.
Terry, I was raised in Colorado. You won't be able to hide from me there. You keep wearing the skin off my nose and I might just hunt you down when I need some antibacterial cream and a bandaid!
Red, I have the Walmart app so I can find them easily. They are a lifesaver at times.
Jake, it's good to see you aren't counting. Obsession can be so ugly. I have my PhD in it and have considered seeing a counselor. Then I realized it's just dedication.

You need to post one of those countdown timers in your signature. It would help remind us how long you got to go!
We won't be out of place to say we are at 350 to go. On the surface Mark would say 15 yards for unRVlike conduct, but then we are counting weeks not days so the penalty goes to Mark If we counted in days, 2450 days sounds depressing but we are keeping the dream alive or a place under the bridge(NOT). Go Mark go!!!

Well, Mike has been on since this was posted and he hasn't done anything about a penalty. Do you suppose he knows that I can go into anybody's comments and change things around?
Bring on the popcorn....

Just think, figuring out what you need to fill the cupboards, basement, closet, etc. with gives you another challenge. Now where did I put???? 7 months on the road and we're still having those conversations, in fact, Dale was trying to remember yesterday as we were driving back to our rig, where he had his solder material for a repair he needs to make.
No matter how carefully you think through what you are packing in the RV, there will be things you'll look at 6 months later and wonder "why did I bring XYZ?" and there will be things you gave away, sold, threw away, etc. that you'll be wondering why it's not with you and grumbling over buying a replacement item.
Have fun and don't sweat all the small details, you have plenty of time to overanalyze it!!
