As many of you know My 94 year old dad has been living and travelling with us for the past 10 years. He suffered from dementia and on Saturday he peacefully slipped away.
He had a passion for life and loved to travel. During his RVing years he progressed from tents, to TTs to motorhomes. His mechanical ability was amazing. He could fix anything and luckily some of these skills were passed on to me. My love for RVing came from the many family camping trips we would take throughout the year while I was growing up.
During the 10 years his Dementia progressed from affecting his memory, to ever increasing lapses of cognitive ability, to loss of motor skills to finally the inability to chew or swallow. I cherish the time we had with him but hate the manor in which dementia took away his quality of life.
He reached the end of the road and is relaxing at his campsite in God's Luxury RV Resort.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It's good you got to do a lot of memmorable things with him up to 94. My dad was taken from us with cancer at the age of 68. Yet my dad's dad lived on to 101-1/2. You just never know how long you have.

So sorry Larry. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My dad is 94 and all he ever wanted to do was get an RV and travel, mom didn't want any parts of it. We are trying to get him to join us, since my mom passed, so being able to be with your dad for the past 10 years was a blessing. Cherish those memories.

My dad died from dementia and parkinsons. It was really tough to watch him go down. I truly feel your pain having gone through the same.
