Our family is growing and our current Class A is falling apart beyond repair. We are looking for preferably a 5th Wheel but are flexible with a Class A. We are looking for something with at least 1 slide out, and room for a Pack and Play play pen for the new little one. Our price range is $500-$3000. We are hoping to buy this with tax return. We are currently in the Northern Utah area and will be here till at least a little after the baby is born in the Spring. If you have or know of anyone who does have something please let me know. Thank you.

in order to find something road worthy you are going to spend 3k or better. you also will have to be able to travel a long distance to get it......the area you are in the market is high and units are used year round til there worn out.
there are several here on the east coast in the higher end of what you are planning on spending......good luck , I can search for you but at low numbers , if its any good it will be scooped up very fast.
an older 5ver or travel trailer is more of a reality but you will have to find a safe towing vehicle and that will raise the price quickly.
not trying to burst the bubble but there are kids involved in this adventure......they come first

Look on RVT. It will give you a good idea of whats available in different classes and different price ranges.
I've found several TT's that looked terrible on the outside but were like new -25 yrs old- on the inside.

Mike,
Where specifically on the east coast is the best place to start looking?

This time of year on the East coast....look in the seasonal camping areas.....Maine ,Vermont , New hampshire...Upstate NY and Western Mass. most units in these regions are Static they were bought for weekending and left on seasonal sites!
Virginia area away from D.C and Metro areas........Florida on the space coast away from metro and tourist areas......Tampa area is real good for private sales....Florida is better during the Spring after march thru the summer season which is there off season once it gets hot.
Ohio, Tenn Kentucky is real good right now and just about any state in the heavy snow belt...just try to stay out of metro areas and the finds are real good.
.....keep your searches in these areas to smaller listings, bigger advertisers reach national audiences, Hence larger customer competition and selling prices..
....Im a craigslist fan for searching them out.....just make sure the deal is real and NEVER for any reason give a deposit or do a transaction without physically being there and all the paperwork and your purchase is acceptable and correctly lined up in front of you!!.......Trust no-one .....even Dealers will promise you the earth, but if its not in writing its worthless....not to mention all the exclusions that are on the back of the contract in fine print you didnt read.
Do your homework!!......and remember if its way to good to be true...somethings wrong!!!
in the words of Sara Palin...........You can put lipstick on a pig........but its still a pig!
